Pratt & Whitney Center of Excellence Review
Pratt and Whitney (PW), a United Technologies company, established a Center of Excellence (COE) at Georgia Tech (GT) in 2008, recognizing GT as a strategic university partner renowned for world-class engineering education and research capabilities.
Through the COE, Pratt & Whitney sponsors fundamental research initiatives that support the design and development of state-of-the-art gas turbine propulsion systems used in commercial, military and emerging technology, and environmental programs. The PW/GT COE currently focuses on the areas of combustion, controls and materials, with participation from the Schools of Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
At the June 4th meeting, fifteen student and faculty members of the COE research team will present a semi-annual progress review at the PW's headquarters in East Hartford, Connecticut.
