Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory
The Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory is directed by Prof. Mavris, and students and staff carry out research in the design of complex aerospace systems and systems of systems.
Aerothermodynamics Research and Technology Laboratory
The Aerothermodynamics Research and Technology Laboratory is directed by Prof. Ruffin and students carry out research in computational fluid dynamics for high speed aerodynamics and aerothermodynamics.
Air Transportation Laboratory
The Air Transportation Laboratory is directed by Prof. John-Paul Clarke and students carry out research in air transportation by simultaneously maximizing the efficiency and minimizing the societal impact (especially on the environment) of the global air transportation through innovations in control, optimization, and system analysis and design.
Cognitive Engineering Center
The Cognitive Engineering Center at Georgia Tech is directed by Dr. Amy Pritchett and includes Dr. Karen Feigh (acting director) and Dr. Seung Man Lee. Students and faculty in the CEC examine human-system integration in complex work environments from theoretical and methodological viewpoints, in the field and in the laboratory, and make substantive contributions to practice.
Combustion Laboratory
The Combustion Laboratory is a multi-million dollar experimental research facility supporting a broad range of experimental research in combustion process for propulsion and energy conversion.
Computational Combustion Laboratory
The Computational Combustion Laboratory is directed by Prof. Menon, and students carry out research in computational modeling of combustion processes.
Experimental Aerodynamics Group
The Experimental Aerodynamics Group is directed by Prof. Komerath and students are conducting aerodynamic research in the various wind tunnels in the Lab.
Flight Mechanics and Controls
The Flight Mechanics and Controls group carry out research on a wide range of problems involving the analysis and design of control systems for aerospace and other engineered systems.
High-Power Electric Propulsion Laboratory
The High-Power Electric Propulsion Laboratory is directed by Prof. Walker. The experimental facility supports a broad range of research in plasmadynamics and electric propulsion for space applications.
Space Systems Design Laboratory
The Space Systems Design Laboratory is directed by Prof. Braun and students carry out research in the design of space launch vehicles and interplanetary spacecraft.
Structural Dynamics and Smart Structures Laboratory
The Structural Dynamics and Smart Structures Laboratory is directed by Prof. Hanagud and the students conduct research in smart structures.
UAV Research Facility
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Research Facility conducts applied research and development of autonomous aerial vehicles.
Vertical Lift Research Center of Excellence
The Vertical Lift Research Center of Excellence is led by Professor Schrage, who along with faculty colleagues and students carry out a wide range of research in rotary wing aircraft technology.
Vibration and Wave Propagation Lab
The Vibration and Wave Propagation Lab is directed by Prof. Ruzzene, and students are conducting research in the dynamics of periodic structures and wave propagation in structures.
