Public Computer Labs

Room 318 contains the AE Computer Lab which is open to all AE students and any other students enrolled at Georgia Tech and taking one or more AE courses or cross listed courses taught by AE faculty. Access to the Lab is controlled by the Buzz Card system, and access to the PC's requires your PRISM student account. Only PRISM accounts for AE students and other students enrolled in AE courses are enabled on these computers. These are your PRISM accounts and all file storage is on your PRISM directories. In this regard, this lab is no different than any of the OIT computer clusters.

At the end of Phase 2 registration for each semester (normally, the end of the first week of classes), all AE student Buzz Card access permissions for AE buildings are updated for all currently enrolled students. Graduate students are permitted 24 hour access to Knight, Guggenheim and Weber.. Undergraduates are permitted access to the Ferst Drive entrance to the Knight Building and to the AE Computer Lab (318) on weekdays from 7AM to 11PM.

The AE computer lab is funded in part by Technology Fees. Accounts and associated software are provided to support classroom instruction each semester.

The AE Computer Lab contains several laser printers, and all accounts have printer quotas set each term. Every effort will be made to supply what we consider REASONABLE amounts of paper. However, to be safe users should be prepared to provide their own standard quality laser printer paper, especially if you are planning on printing a large number of pages.

Rules for use of computers and equipment in the Lab are posted on the Lab walls. Video surveillance cameras are used to provide security for both students and the facility itself.
