Georgia Tech focuses on collaborating with affiliates in the areas of research infrastructure; outreach to students interested in pursuing engineering; providing internship opportunities; and supporting student participation in scientific endeavors such at the NASA’s student microgravity teams.

Highlights of Programs

An Undergraduate Mentee Program is aimed at enhancing student retention and attracting students to graduate programs. The Undergraduate Research Experience program provides a framework for students to participate in research projects in their fields of interest. In another program, the Graduate Mentor - Undergraduate Mentee Program, graduate students work as mentors to undergraduate students. Graduate students work under the supervision of faculty advisors to develop demonstration experiments to be used for students and teachers training in the areas of Design, Analysis and Manufacturing of Composites, Computer Aided Design, Numerical Simulation and Rotorcraft.

Student Support - Georgia Tech provides support and expenses for the student Chapter of AIAA to participate in the World Space Congress; supports the student microgravity competition teams; and provides funding for the student teams of NASA Means Business, etc. If you are interested in obtaining funding go to the Grants and Fellowship page to download an application.

Exhibits –Georgia Tech has hosted several exhibits throughout Georgia including an Exhibit on African American Space Scientists (with posters designed by the Ohio Space Grant Consortium); a Space Station Exhibit in conjunction with a county Parks and Recreation Department; and a NASA Spinoffs Exhibit at the APEX Museum in Atlanta.
