The Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering (AE) graduate program remains at No. 4 overall, and No. 1 among publicly funded institutions according to the 2023-2024 U.S. News & World Report national rankings.

"It is wonderful that the AE School continues to be acknowledged as the top public institution in the U.S. for aerospace research and education. It truly is a testament to the brilliance and dedication of the students, staff, and faculty that make the AE School home,” said Adam Steinberg, AE associate chair for graduate programs. “There are so many exciting things happening right now - space missions, flying robots, sustainable aircraft, and much more on the horizon.”

Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering graduate program has climbed two spots to No. 5. The new ranking puts the College in third among public universities. It also complements last fall’s undergraduate list, where the College is ranked No. 5 overall.

For a dozen years now, all 11 of the College’s programs are ranked in the top 10 for graduate programs. That includes the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, which is No. 1 for the 33rd consecutive year. For the first time in its history, the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University is No. 1. Two other programs rose in the rankings. Computer engineering climbed one spot to No. 5, and nuclear engineering went from No. 9 to No. 8.

The AE School’s undergraduate program rose to No. 1 in U.S. News’ Best Aerospace Engineering Program rankings for the first time last fall.

U.S. News' Best Engineering Schools rankings compare schools on their research activity, faculty resources, academic achievements of entering students and assessments by other engineering schools and employers.
