Dr. Olds is an Associate Professor in the Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As Co-Director of Georgia Tech's Space Systems Design Laboratory, he leads a research program focused on conceptual design and technology assessment of advanced space transportation systems. He is responsible for undergraduate and graduate level instruction in the areas of space systems design, multidisciplinary optimization and space propulsion. Prior to coming to Georgia Tech, Dr. Olds worked at General Dynamics Space Systems Division and completed assignments at the NASA Langley Research Center and NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. Dr. Olds also served as a visiting assistant professor at North Carolina State University. He is founder of an Atlanta-based aerospace engineering consulting firm, SpaceWorks Engineering, Inc., and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Georgia.
Dr. Olds is presently on a one year
sabbatical and will not be accepting
new graduate student applications for the 2006 - 2007 academic year.
