Student Organizations

Georgia Tech offers a wide variety of organizations that cater to students. This page lists a few that pertain to Aerospace Engineering in some way.

Affilated Organizations

These organizations are directly related to the School of Aerospace Engineering. With the exception of the Student Advisory Council they are chartered student organizations with faculty advisors in the School.

Sigma Gamma Tau
Sigma Gamma Tau is the national Aerospace Engineering Honor Society. In the tradition of an honor society, the goal of the Georgia Tech Chapter of Sigma Gamma Tau is to further the experience of aerospace engineers at Georgia Tech. AE students at the top of their class are invited to join Sigma Gamma Tau and partake in social, educational, and service activities. These include tutoring and advising incoming freshmen, holding model airplane contests, and providing fun, educational opportunities for local grade school students.
AIAA
There is a Student Branch of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) at Georgia Tech. This is the professional society for Aerospace Engineers.

American Helicopter Society
Georgia Tech is a world-renowned institution for rotorcraft research and education. As one of the original Rotorcraft Centers of Excellence (sponsored by the National Rotorcraft Technology Center), Tech has a long-standing tradition of excellence and attracts some of the most brilliant faculty and students.We at AHS want to promote rotorcraft at Georgia Tech and nearby Atlanta communities, and are open to engineers and enthusiasts alike.

Mars Society at Georgia Tech
The Mars Society at Georgia Tech is the local chapter of the national Mars Society. The purpose of the Mars Society is to further the goal of the exploration and settlement of the Red Planet.

SAESAC
The School of Aerospace Engineering Student Advisory Council (SAESAC) is a group of Georgia Tech Aerospace Eningeering students who are dedicatd to communicating with the School of Aerospace Engineering in order to improve the School.
The Yellow Jackets Flying Club
The Yellow Jacket Flying Club (YJFC) is a student run organization of the Georgia Institute of Technology. The club was founded in 1946 and exists to provide opportunities for students, alumni, and faculty and staff to pursue their passion for aviation.
