The lab supports a suite of software that is appropriate to the educational and research objectives of the school. The core includes word processors, spreadsheets, equation solvers, math systems, graphics systems, network access software, and all software in the suite of software that students are required to purchase. In addition, a smaller number of special purpose software systems are maintained. Site-licensed software available on all these computers includes AutoCAD, ABAQUS, ANSYS, FLUENT,JMP, MAPLE, MATHEMATICA, MATLAB/ Simulink/ Stateflow, Microsoft Office and Solid Edge. The lab is firewalled from the rest of the AE network and is not accessible from outside the lab. The campus wireless network, LAWN, is accessible from within the lab, and students may connect their laptops to the LAWN network.
