Program of Study Flowcharts

2001-2003 General Catalog

March 2004

The following program of study flowcharts provide a graphical description of the AE undergraduate degree program in a manner that make it easy to see prerequisite relationships between courses. The flowcharts show the courses arranged in a grid with each row corresponding to a particular semester and the columns used to separate each course. A key that describes the graphical features is provided at the top of each flowchart. You are encouraged to print copies of a flowchart and use it to plan and mark off your progress in your program of study. You should discuss these plans with your AE Academic Advisor who will help you work out any details.

NOTE: Only the Georgia Tech General Catalog provides authoritative descriptions of the degree requirements and programs of study. The flowcharts provided below provide suggestions on how to complete the program of study. While every effort has been made to insure their accuracy, if mistakes or errors are spotted, please bring this to the attention of Prof. Craig so that corrected versions can be prepared as quickly as possible.

These forms will require that you have the Adobe Acrobat plug-in installed in your browser so that you can properly display and print PDF files. This plug-in is available from Adobe Systems.

Basic Program Flowcharts

Flowchart A1 for entering Freshmen (June 2005)
This flowchart is one of two randomly assigned to entering freshmem. The first year shows schedules designed to balance the enrollment in the required AE and CS courses (as well as HPS and SS). Otherwise, they are identical for years 2-4.
Flowchart A2 for entering Freshmen (June 2005)
This flowchart is one of two randomly assigned to entering freshmem. The first year shows schedules designed to balance the enrollment in the required AE and CS courses (as well as HPS and SS). Otherwise, they are identical for years 2-4.

Flowchart F1 for entering Freshmen (March 2004)
This flowchart is one of two randomly assigned to entering freshmem. The first year shows schedules designed to balance the enrollment in the required AE and CS courses (as well as HPS and SS). Otherwise, they are identical for years 2-4.
Flowchart F2 for entering Freshmen (March 2004)
This flowchart is one of two randomly assigned to entering freshmem. The first year shows schedules designed to balance the enrollment in the required AE and CS courses (as well as HPS and SS). Otherwise, they are identical for years 2-4.

Alternative Program Flowcharts

Alternate Flowchart ALT-1 (March 2004)
This flowchart shows the first AE lab course starting in Fall of the junior year and AE3021 taken before AE4350.
Alternate Flowchart ALT-2 (March 2004)
This flowchart shows AE3450 concurrently with AE2020 which may be somewhat more difficult because for some students, AE2020 provides good motivation for the more abstract elements of thermodynamics in AE3450. The ECE courses are also not in sequence one after the other. Finally, there is more variability in the number of hours per semester.
Alternate Flowchart ALT-3 (March 2004)
This shows another variation in the sequencing of the AE lab classes and swaps some of the semesters for some of the AE courses.
Alternate Flowchart ALT-4 (March 2004)
This shows minor changes in the sequencing of the labs and other courses. There is more variability in the number of hours per semester.
