For AE Classes
ONLY
The AE Academic Office can only work on permits and overloads for AE
courses. If the class you need is not AExxxx, then you must contact the
department offering the course with your request!
Permit Types
- Overloads
- If a class is full and OSCAR lists it as closed, you would need to
request an overload to be allowed a space.
- Prerequisite Overrides
- If you have taken the prerequisites required for a course, but the
system still gives you a "Prereq or Test Score Error," you
may request a prerequisite override here.
- Permits
- If you need a permit to take an AE course, request it here. Examples
are AE graduate students taking an AE undergraduate course or vice versa
or non-AE students taking restricted AE courses like AE1350.
- Permits for Research
- If you are planning on taking an undergraduate research course such
as AE4699 Undergraduate Research or AE4698 Undergraduate Research Assistantship,
you must complete this form and have it approved by your research advisor
who will then forward it to the AE Academic Office to issue a permit.
- Permits for AE4900 Special Problem
- Use this link if you are planning on taking the AE4900 Special Problem
course. This course is NOT for research. Instead, it is for supervised
learning; for example, use this number if you plan to study a particular
topic under the direction of a faculty member.
- Permits for AE8900 Special Problem
- Use this link if you are planning on taking the AE8900 Special Problem
course. This course is required if you are pursuing a masters degree
without a thesis.
