AE 8803 DAN Course Description

Fundamentals of inelastic response of solids, with emphasis on issues relevant to aerospace and composite structures. Characterization of inelastic response; Viscoelastic stress-strain constitutive relations; Isothermal boundary value problems; Thermoviscoelasticity; Mechanical properties and approximate transform inversion; Viscoelastic behavior of composites; Foundations of plasticity theory; General theorems; Solution of plastic-elastic problems.
